You are in for a treat when you book a trip to London. This ancient metropolis was the center of the Western world for centuries and contains all the history that implies. From Buckingham Palace to the Natural History Museum to Bangers and Mash and more, there is so much to do and experience in London that you’ll never be bored. With so many centuries of history to explore and food to try, it can be hard to choose what to see and do while in London.

We have compiled a list of the must see sites during your trip to London to help make planning a bit easier.

Walk Around Buckingham Palace

There are many of the world’s best known landmarks in London and if you are into the Royal Family, you can’t miss Buckingham Palace. No, you won’t be able to jump on the bed of the Queen of England as the private residence rooms are closed to the public, but the State Rooms are available for visits, should you be interest. This royal residence was built in the early 18th century and filled with enough history to keep even the most picky historian busy.

Learn at the Natural History Museum

If you are a natural history lover, a kid or a kid at heart, you are going to love the Natural History Museum. There are millions and millions of artifacts for you to explore which means you could potentially spend the rest of your life here and not see all it has to offer. There are dinosaur skeletons, crawling bugs, elephant bird relics, and more for you to explore.

Explore Windsor Castle

If you are in Europe, you can’t miss exploring a castle. Windsor Castle is a top choice for castle lovers as it is the oldest and largest castle in the world. There are a plethora of tours available if you want to explore the history of the entire complex. This is a good area to start your search for a hotel in London as it is fairly central and has easy transportation.

Eat Some Bangers and Mash

What would a trip to London be without some good Londoner food. Bangers and Mash is a traditional British Isles dish of mashed potatoes and sausages. If you aren’t feeling that heavy of a meal, try some traditional fish and chips. Either way, you need to make sure you wash it down with a pint of beer. All of the local pubs will have what you are looking for and probably some good company to boot.

Walk Through History at the Imperial War Museum

If you are a war history lover, you may never want to leave this gigantic museum which features the imperial wars. In the World War I and II galleries there are large artifacts such as guns, tanks, and even planes. For older travelers, the third floor of the museum is filled with the Holocaust Exhibition. While it is hard to experience, it’s an important part of history which can’t be missed.
